You may also download handouts and find quick links to important websites that we will be using throughout the year.

Grades are now available online at engrade.com. The link is on the "links" page. Please remember that there are always new assignments being added and no grade is final until the semester report card comes out. Also, if you do not see a grade for an assignment that you know that you completed, please be patient as I may not have recorded your classes scores yet.

AUGUST 23: 9ACC - Textbook page 104, Quickwrite and vocabulary.

AUGUST 23: 11 AP/IB - Chapter 1 Test Tuesday.

AUGUST 24: 9ACC - Read 106-108 including "A Closer Look."

AUGUST 24: 11 AP/IB - Read Chapter 2 pages 45-53.

AUGUST 25: 9ACC - Finish reading "Helen on 86th Street" and complete questions 1-10 on page 114

AUGUST 25: 11 AP/IB - Find a visual text and analyze it for a Pathos or emotional appeal and bring it along with your analysis to class on Thursday.

August 26: 9 ACC - Finish "Practice" activity on page 117 and study the vocabulary by writing sentences using the words on page 118.

AUGUST 26: 11 AP/IB - Evaluate "A Change of Heart" for elements of pathos.

AUGUST 27: 9 ACC - Read "Marigolds" pages 118 - 129. Quickwrite, Vocabulary, open book questions, and LRA questions 1-11.

AUGUST 27: 11 AP/IB - Everything's an Argument chapter 3 Ethos for Monday.

AUGUST 30: 9ACC - Finish Marigolds, related readings, Open Book Questions, and LRA Questions 1-11.

AUGUST 30: 11 AP/IB - Chapter 3 Ethos and analysis of the Rifkin text.

SEPTEMBER 1:9ACC - Continue with your two-column journal entries for "Marigolds" and then place them into the proper categories for the extended commentaries.

SEPTEMBER 1: 11 AP/IB - What is your personal Ethos? Determine which areas you would have a high degree of ethos in and be prepared to share your expertise on Thursday.

SEPTEMBER 2:9 ACC - Chapter 2 Test on Friday! Study pages 84-85, 116-117, 140-144. Continue to work on Extended Commentaries for "Marigolds"; due Tuesday.

SEPTEMBER 2: 11 AP/IB - Review Ethos and Pathos.
